Ava was born, prematurely, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. She was born with Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia, MAPCAS and VSD.

After battling low oxygen numbers and “tet spells” Ava went into a code situation on Easter Sunday. Ruby said that there was nothing more they could do and sent her to NCH the next morning. They saved her life. They found arteries that weren’t seen before. On April 4, 2016, she underwent her first of many open heart surgeries and received a Right Ventricle to Pulmonary Artery conduit.

She is currently at home, awaiting her next surgery.

Dr. Galantowicz, the doctors, nurses and everyone else involved in Ava’s care were wonderful and will forever hold a special place in our hearts. They gave us our little girl back. They gave us hope when we had lost every bit.
