Cameron’s TOF journey

Cameron was born March 8th, 2017. Soon after he was born the doctors heard a very loud heart murmur that didn’t go away. We were sent to see Dr. Rosen with Nationwide Children’s Hospital and we were told Cameron would have to have open heart surgery. Then with his picture printout he drew us a picture to help us understand exactly what was wrong with Cameron’s heart. Cameron suffers from a condition known as Tetralogy of Fallot. Cam had two holes in his heart and his pulmonary valve wasn’t working correctly either. Cameron had his first open heart surgery on August 4th, 2017 at just 5 months old. Dr. Shinoka did an amazing job with his repair and is a rockstar. We don’t know what the future holds for Cameron but we do know that he’s incredibly strong and can fight harder than most grown men. Cameron has snuggled his way into the hearts of many people and today at just 6 months old is doing amazing. Thanks to Nationwide Children’s Hospital Cameron’s life had been extended immensely. Thank you Nationwide Children’s Hospital. ❤️
