From a Thankful Mom

My son Liam ended up needing two surgeries due to kidney stones and more than three hospital stays due to a rare infection caused by said stones.

We were put on infectious disease floor. I was blown away by the doctors. Not only did they include me with every round, making sure all my concerns were addressed and explaining things to me when needed, but they also acted like my son was the only child there. They took their time. Never did I feel rushed.

The nurses were also amazing. They were so kind, so encouraging and cheering with us when our son stabilized.

I can’t thank Nationwide Children’s Hospital enough. We were going to lose our son had the infectious disease team not stepped forward. Also, a huge thank you to your musical therapist, Donovan. Liam said that he was the best part of all, and a student even finished his rounds to come play guitar for our son. I thought he was only saying that; never did I imagine he would actually do it!

Now we have follow ups with these great doctors and I feel safe in our sons recovery.
Thank you Nationwide Children’s and all the doctors and nurses who made us calm and collected as we charted through this scary territory.
