Macoy’s Journey

Macoy was born a fighter at estimated gestational age of 32-33 weeks. Shortly after birth he was placed in the NICU. After getting discharged, we noticed a hemangioma on his right eye and head, which was growing at what seemed like a rapid speed. After getting referred to Dr. K at the Vascular Clinic, he began his journey at Nationwide Children’s. He was quickly referred to cardiology, ophthalmology, and was scheduled for his first MRI which was with sedation/intubation. Macoy is monitored closely due to the correlation of hemangiomas and PHACE Syndrome. Overtime, Macoy has grown and flourished into a rotten, but very cute little three year old. Currently he is thriving and we cannot wait to see the big things he does in his future.
