Paige’s Story

I became pregnant at the age of 19. I went to the Adolescent Medicine Clinic and they sent me the Teen and Pregnant Program (TaP). I was given the option to do CenteringPregnancy or regular doctor visits. I chose CenteringPregnancy because it meant there would be other girls like me there. I had a very healthy pregnancy and was fully prepared when my little Raelynn arrived.

Raelynn came on 10/13/17 at 6.12 lbs and has been flourishing ever since. Whenever I bring her to the nurses from TaP, they love her so much. I learned so much and I was so happy with what I learned about breastfeeding I immediately changed my mind about formula feeding. Everyone from the receptionist, nurses and doctors to the lactation consultants, dietitian and relaxation consultant helped me tremendously. I started a month or two late when I found out about the program. I walked in a little nervous but I learned quickly that it was an open space for growth, love, and a learning opportunity.

I would go again even if I wasn’t pregnant. It was parenting class, the myths, truth and unsaid birth tips, fun, food, labor and delivery all in one. I am very happy to have experienced that. Thank you TaP and Nationwide Children’s for everything!
