Tyler was born with Spina Bifida and had a self-contained myelomeningocele repaired at birth. He had no further problems till the age of 16 when he was having problems emptying his bladder. The doctors found that his spinal cord was tethered and had to do surgery to repair it. The tethered spinal cord did do damage to his bladder so they did a surgery called a mitrofanoff so that he could empty his bladder. Tyler is a typical teenager who likes music, movies, books and video games. Thanks to the wonderful doctors and staff at Nationwide Children’s hospital and especially God, Tyler now has a job and will be graduating from high school in June.
